Chartsy reads your Stripe invoices, works out MRR the same way every time, and hands the result to Claude through its MCP connector, so Claude reports your MRR instead of estimating it from raw rows. Last updated October 2026.
What's my Stripe MRR, and which plan grew most this quarter?
MRR is $8,420, up from $7,610 three months ago.
Stripe records what was billed and paid, not what your business earns each month. Hand Claude raw invoices and it has to make these calls itself, every time you ask.
| In your Stripe data | What Claude sees in a raw export | What Chartsy gives Claude |
|---|---|---|
| Annual and quarterly plans | A $1,200 yearly invoice looks like $1,200 of revenue in the month it was paid | Spread to $100 a month. Weekly and multi-month intervals are converted the same way |
| Coupons | The invoice line shows the plan price; the discount sits in a separate field | MRR uses the amount after the coupon on that line |
| One-off charges | Setup fees and one-off invoice items sit in the same invoices and charges | Left out. Only subscription line items count towards MRR |
| Free trials | A trialing subscription looks like a customer | Counts from the first paid invoice; $0 trial invoices are ignored |
| Cancellations | A cancelled subscription stays in the export until you filter it | Leaves MRR once Stripe marks it canceled. A cancel set for the period end counts until then |
| Currencies | Invoices in EUR, GBP and USD side by side | Converted to your Chartsy currency at the rate on each invoice's date |
| Refunds | Mixed in with payments | Kept out of MRR and reported on their own, by plan |
The same rules apply in your Chartsy dashboard. More on the metric itself in what MRR is.
Three, and they suit different jobs. Stripe's connector is for working in Stripe. Chartsy is for questions about the business.
| Option | What Claude gets | Who works out MRR | Can it change Stripe? | Customer details |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A CSV export | A snapshot of invoices or subscriptions, out of date by tomorrow | Claude, from the rows you uploaded, a little differently each time | No | Whatever columns you exported, emails included |
| Stripe's own connector | The Stripe API: customers, subscriptions, invoices, plus an analytics tool in preview | Claude or Stripe's analytics tool, depending on what it calls | Yes. It can create refunds, update and cancel subscriptions; Stripe asks you to confirm some actions | Full customer records, names and emails included |
| Chartsy | 19 read-only tools: MRR, MRR by plan and country, churn, refunds, at-risk customers, site traffic | Chartsy, with the same rules every time, before Claude sees a number | No. Read-only, and Chartsy itself reads Stripe with a restricted key | Stripe customer IDs only |
Chartsy also reads Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem and Freemius, and your website traffic, so Claude can tell you where the MRR came from.
Two connections, each made once. Neither one gives Claude your Stripe key.

The exact clicks for web, desktop and mobile are on Chartsy + Claude. In the terminal, use Claude Code.
Each of these is one Chartsy tool call, so one ChartsyAI question. Ask them as written or in your own words.
| Ask Claude | Chartsy tool | What comes back |
|---|---|---|
| What's my MRR right now? | get_mrr | One figure in your Chartsy currency |
| How did MRR move by plan over the last 6 months? | get_mrr_by_plan | MRR and customer count per plan, per month |
| Show my MRR week by week for the last quarter. | get_mrr_by_plan | The monthly run rate as of each week. Compare the weeks, don't add them up |
| Which countries does my MRR come from? | get_mrr_by_country | MRR and customers per country, highest first |
| How much of my MRR depends on my 10 biggest customers? | get_customer_concentration | Their share of MRR, as Stripe customer IDs |
| Which subscriptions have failed payments? | list_at_risk_customers | The customers whose MRR is at risk, as Stripe customer IDs |

Amounts, counts and Stripe customer IDs, worked out by Chartsy. Not your Stripe key, and not your customers' names or emails.
Claude can read your numbers. It can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Customers are payment-processor IDs; names and emails stay in Chartsy. Claude sees only the accounts and sites your login owns, checked on every call.
Each call uses one ChartsyAI question from your monthly allowance, failed calls included. Broad questions usually take one call.
How the numbers are counted, what Claude can reach, and what it costs.
Connect Stripe to Chartsy with a restricted API key, then add Chartsy to Claude as a custom connector at https://mcp.chartsy.app/mcp. After that, ask "what's my MRR?" in any Claude chat. Claude calls Chartsy's get_mrr tool and answers from your real Stripe data.
Claude can read a CSV, but it has to work out MRR from raw rows each time: spreading annual invoices over 12 months, taking coupons off, leaving out one-off charges and converting currencies. Small differences in how it does that change the answer, and the file is out of date the next day. Chartsy does that work once, with the same rules, on data that stays in sync.
No. Chartsy holds a restricted, read-only Stripe key that you create when you connect Stripe. Claude signs in to Chartsy, never to Stripe, and never sees the key.
Yes. They do different jobs. Stripe's connector works on your Stripe account, such as looking up an invoice or issuing a refund, and can make changes. Chartsy is read-only and answers business questions: MRR, churn, refunds and where customers came from. Keep both on and Claude picks the one that fits the question.
Annual plans count as a twelfth of the invoice each month, and weekly or multi-month plans are converted to a monthly figure the same way. Coupons on the invoice line are taken off. One-off charges and refunds are left out. A subscription leaves MRR once Stripe marks it canceled; one set to cancel at the end of its period counts until then.
Tools count MRR with different rules, for example on discounts, trials, scheduled cancellations and currency conversion, so the totals rarely match to the dollar. Ask Claude for MRR by plan and compare plan by plan to find where the difference comes from.
When you connect Stripe, Chartsy imports your invoices from 1 January two years before, so connecting in 2026 brings in everything from January 2024. After that, Chartsy keeps syncing new invoices and cancellations from Stripe, so Claude answers from current data.
Yes. Connect each Stripe account to Chartsy, then name the one you mean in the question, or pick a default when you connect Claude. Claude only sees the accounts your Chartsy login owns. Connecting several Stripe accounts.
One per tool call, failed calls included. "What's my MRR?" is one call; the question at the top of this page is two, because Claude reads current MRR and MRR by plan. Each comes out of your plan's monthly ChartsyAI allowance.
Yes. The same questions work for Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem, Freemius or a custom source connected to Chartsy, and Claude can compare them if you sell through more than one.
Yes, in any agent connected to the Chartsy MCP server, with the same numbers. See all AI agents or the MCP server reference.
