The Chartsy daily business brief answers "what happened yesterday?" in any AI agent connected to Chartsy, from your Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Freemius data. It's one tool call, so it costs one ChartsyAI question. Last updated October 2026.
What happened yesterday?
A normal Tuesday, with one thing to watch.
One day of your business, with the numbers needed to judge it. Your agent gets all of it from one call and tells you whether the day was normal, not just what the numbers were.
| Figure | What it covers | Compared with |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | The day's total and the split by plan | Previous day and 7-day average, with % change |
| New subscribers | Subscriptions started that day | Previous day and 7-day average |
| Cancellations | Subscriptions cancelled, and the churn rate against customers active that morning | Previous day and 7-day average |
| Refunds | Number and amount refunded, by plan when there were any | Shown as a warning when they reach the day's revenue |
| Site traffic | Visits, unique visitors and signups, by source, medium and landing page | Previous day and 7-day average. Left out if you track no sites |
| MRR | Your MRR right now, for context | Not a figure for that day |
Chartsy works out the warnings before your agent sees the numbers, with the same rules every day. The agent leads with them, so a bad day doesn't get lost in a list of figures.
| Warning | When it appears | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue drop | Revenue 50% or more below the 7-day average | Warning; critical at 80% below |
| Cancellations | Any subscription cancelled that day | Warning; critical at 3 or more |
| Refunds | Any refund recorded that day | Info; a warning when refunds reach the day's revenue |
| Traffic drop | Visits 50% or more below the 7-day average | Warning |
| Revenue or traffic spike | 50% or more above the 7-day average | Info |
| Quiet day | No revenue, signups, cancellations, refunds or visits at all | Info, instead of every other warning |
| Partial day | You asked about today, which isn't over yet | Info |
For alerts, ignore the info level: a single refund or a good day isn't worth a ping. Field names are in the MCP server reference.
Connect Chartsy once, then ask the same question every morning. The agent picks get_daily_snapshot on its own.
Add Chartsy as a connector in Claude on the web, desktop or mobile, then ask. Good for following up with "why?" when a warning shows up.
> What happened yesterday?
Add Chartsy as a custom app, then pick it in a chat and ask. Chartsy's listing in the ChatGPT app directory is coming soon.
> What happened yesterday?
Ask in any session before you start work, without leaving the terminal. The Chartsy plugin teaches Claude Code to answer it with one call.
claude > What happened yesterday?
Works the same in Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI and any other agent on the AI agents page.
Put the question on a schedule and the brief arrives before you open your laptop. Both options connect with a personal token from Chartsy → Settings → Claude & MCP.
An OpenClaw automation runs the question on weekdays at 8:00 in your time zone and sends the answer to your chat.
Set up OpenClawPROMPT="What happened yesterday in Chartsy? Three lines, flag anything unusual." openclaw automations create "0 8 * * 1-5" \ "$PROMPT" \ --name "Chartsy morning brief" \ --tz "Europe/London" \ --session isolated \ --announce --channel telegram \ --to "<your-chat-id>"
A three-node workflow: a schedule, an AI Agent with Chartsy as its tool, and a Slack message. Swap Slack for email, Notion or a sheet.
Set up n8n1. Schedule Trigger Weekdays at 8:00 2. AI Agent + MCP Client Tool Endpoint: https://mcp.chartsy.app/mcp Prompt: Summarize yesterday from Chartsy in 3 bullets. Say whether each number was normal against the 7-day average. 3. Slack: Send message to #revenue
Send it to a DM or a private channel. Revenue numbers don't belong in public channels.
One per brief. Each tool call uses one ChartsyAI question from your plan's monthly allowance, failed calls included. Follow-up questions take more calls.
| How you use it | Tool calls | Questions a month |
|---|---|---|
| Ask every weekday morning | 1 call a day | About 22 |
| Scheduled every day, OpenClaw or n8n | 1 call a day | About 30 |
| Scheduled daily, plus a follow-up question on weekdays | 1 a day, plus 1 to 3 per follow-up | About 50 to 100 |
Have more than one Chartsy account? Pick a default when you connect, or name the account in the question, so the agent doesn't spend an extra call finding it.
Counts and amounts for one day. All 19 Chartsy tools are read-only, and no names or emails leave Chartsy.
Your agent can read your numbers. It can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Customers are payment-processor IDs; names and emails stay in Chartsy. Your agent sees only the accounts and sites your login owns, checked on every call.
Each call uses one ChartsyAI question from your monthly allowance, failed calls included. Broad questions usually take one call.
Short answers about the brief, its warnings and what it costs.
A short morning summary of the day before, written by an AI agent from your real numbers: revenue, new subscribers, cancellations, refunds and site traffic, each compared with the previous day and the 7-day average, plus warnings for anything unusual. With Chartsy it comes from one get_daily_snapshot call.
One per brief. "What happened yesterday?" is a single get_daily_snapshot call, so a weekday brief uses about 22 questions a month and a daily one about 30. Follow-up questions and failed calls count too, one per tool call.
The 7 days before the day in the brief. The day itself is never part of its own baseline, so a bad day can't hide by pulling the average down.
Yes. Ask "what happened on Monday?" or give a date. Yesterday is the default because today isn't over yet; if you ask about today, the brief says the figures are partial.
Yes. OpenClaw sends it to Telegram, Slack, WhatsApp and other chats on a schedule, and n8n posts it to Slack, email or anywhere else its nodes reach. Both connect with a personal token, so nothing needs a browser.
It works with whatever you've connected to Chartsy: Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem, Freemius or a custom source through the Chartsy API. The demo data added at signup doesn't count.
No. The brief contains counts and amounts only. Wherever Chartsy shares customers, they are payment-processor IDs; names and emails stay in Chartsy.
It's included in every Chartsy plan, including the free trial, and uses one ChartsyAI question from your monthly allowance per brief. Your AI agent may have its own costs.
