Chartsy is a hosted, read-only MCP server that gives n8n workflows your MRR, churn, refunds and site traffic from Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Freemius. Works on n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n with a personal token. Last updated October 2026.

n8n runs workflows unattended, so it connects with a personal token. Nothing to install: the server is hosted, and the MCP nodes are built into n8n.

The AI Agent node also needs a chat model, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, with your own API key.

Prefer a chat assistant that runs 24/7? See Chartsy + OpenClaw. How the brief works: the daily business brief.
Both connect to the same server with the same token. The difference is whether an AI model decides what to call.
| Surface | How it works | ChartsyAI questions | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
MCP Client ToolThis page | A sub-node of AI Agent; the model picks the tools | Usually 1 or 2 per run, set by the model | Written summaries and open questions |
MCP Client | A normal step that runs the one tool you pick | Exactly 1 per run, no LLM needed | Alerts, sheets and fixed reports |
MCP OAuth2 | Either node, signing in instead of using a token | Same as the node it's on | When you'd rather not manage a token |
Agent prompts and workflows people build with Chartsy. The agent picks the tools, so the calls can vary.

get_daily_snapshot returns flags for unusual days, each with a severity. Skip the info ones and an If node keeps normal days quiet, with no LLM involved.

Needs the Chartsy tracking script on your site and a connected payment provider. Groups under 5 paying customers are flagged as inconclusive, and retention needs about 90 days to mean much.

Names, emails and write access never do.
n8n can read your numbers. It can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Customers are payment-processor IDs; names and emails stay in Chartsy. n8n sees only the accounts and sites your login owns, checked on every call.
Each call uses one ChartsyAI question from your monthly allowance, failed calls included. Broad questions usually take one call.
Most problems are the transport, the credential or the AI model.
Set Server Transport to HTTP Streamable. Older MCP Client Tool versions default to Server Sent Events, which the Chartsy server doesn't use. Check the Endpoint is exactly the server URL.
Check the Bearer Auth credential holds the full token with no extra spaces. If the token was revoked or has expired, generate a new one in Chartsy → Settings → Claude & MCP and update the credential.
Name Chartsy in the prompt, for example "from Chartsy", and make sure the MCP Client Tool is connected to the agent's Tool input. For fixed reports, use the MCP Client node instead.
Connect Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Freemius in Chartsy and let the first sync finish. The demo data added at signup doesn't count.
Each tool call uses one ChartsyAI question, failed calls included. When your monthly allowance is used up, calls stop until it resets on the 1st, or until you upgrade your Chartsy plan.
Short answers for people building n8n workflows.
Generate a personal token in Chartsy → Settings → Claude & MCP. In n8n, add an MCP Client Tool to an AI Agent (or an MCP Client node), set Endpoint to https://mcp.chartsy.app/mcp, Server Transport to HTTP Streamable and Authentication to Bearer Auth with the token.
Only with the AI Agent node, which needs a chat model such as OpenAI or Anthropic and your own API key. The MCP Client node runs one Chartsy tool directly, with no model, and its result can go straight into Slack, email or a sheet.
One per tool call, failed calls included. A weekday digest with one get_daily_snapshot call is about 22 questions a month; a weekly email with get_business_snapshot is about 4. An AI Agent may make more than one call per run.
Yes. The MCP Client Tool and MCP Client nodes are built into n8n, and the Chartsy server is hosted, so both connect the same way.
Yes. Both have an MCP Client app that calls the Chartsy server with a personal token, the same way n8n does. Each has its own setup guide: chartsy.app/make for Make, and for Zapier: Chartsy + Zapier.
Connecting costs nothing extra. It works on any Chartsy plan, including the free trial, and each tool call uses one ChartsyAI question from your plan's monthly allowance.
n8n reads whatever you have connected to Chartsy: Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem, Freemius or a custom source through the Chartsy API.
No. All 19 Chartsy tools are read-only. A workflow can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Delete the Chartsy nodes and the Bearer Auth credential in n8n. To cut access everywhere, revoke the token in Chartsy under Settings → Claude & MCP.
Yes. The get_revenue_by_source tool follows the people who signed up from each source, medium, UTM campaign or post into your billing data, and returns how many became paying customers, what they're worth in MRR today, how many churned and the retention rate. You can choose first touch (where they first found you) or last touch (what made them sign up). It needs the Chartsy tracking script on your site and a connected payment provider. Groups with fewer than 5 paying customers are flagged as too small to call.
Same server, same numbers. Or see all AI agents and the MCP server reference.
Connect your payment provider to Chartsy, add the server in n8n, and send the first digest tomorrow morning.
