Chartsy is a hosted, read-only MCP server that gives GitHub Copilot in VS Code your MRR, churn, refunds and site traffic from Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Freemius. Works on every Copilot plan; Business and Enterprise need the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy on. Last updated October 2026.
Did yesterday's release change signups or refunds?
Signups up, refunds normal.
Add the server, sign in once, then ask in agent mode. Nothing to install: the server is hosted.
https://mcp.chartsy.app/mcp
Or add it per project in .vscode/mcp.json as "type": "http" with this URL.

Same server and the same numbers. The difference is scope, and whether a secret is involved.

Workspace | .vscode/mcp.json in the repo | Each person signs in with their own Chartsy login | One codebase; safe to commit, since there's no secret in it |

Questions from developers working on their own SaaS. Copilot picks the tools, so the calls can vary.

Sample figures for a made-up business.
Add an MRR-by-country chart to our admin dashboard and check the totals against Chartsy.
Copilot:
Gaps usually come from tax, currency conversion or annual plans.
Write a test fixture with the same monthly churn rate as production.
Churn averaged 2.8% a month over the last 6 months.
Chartsy returns rates and counts, never customer details.

A few weeks is an early read. Copilot will say so.

More in the MCP prompt library.
With sign-in there's nothing secret in the file. If you need a token, use an input: VS Code asks once and stores it securely.

}Signups only tell you half the story. VS Code can now follow each channel into your billing data, so you see which ones bring customers who pay and stay.
Needs the Chartsy tracking script on your site and a connected payment provider. Groups under 5 paying customers are flagged as inconclusive, and retention needs about 90 days to mean much.
Which channels brought paying customers last quarter, and what are they worth now?
Search brings the most money; the newsletter converts best.
The same numbers as your Chartsy dashboard. Turn individual tools on or off with Configure Tools in the chat input.

Names, emails and write access never do.
VS Code can read your numbers. It can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Customers are payment-processor IDs; names and emails stay in Chartsy. VS Code sees only the accounts and sites your login owns, checked on every call.
Each call uses one ChartsyAI question from your monthly allowance, failed calls included. Broad questions usually take one call.
Most problems are trust, sign-in or a Copilot policy.
Workspace servers in .vscode/mcp.json only start in a trusted workspace; restricted mode keeps them off. Run MCP: List Servers to see its status and start it.
Start the chartsy server again and complete the sign-in in the browser window VS Code opens. If your browser blocks it, use the token input version of mcp.json instead.
On Copilot Business or Enterprise, an admin must enable the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy; it's off by default. You also need VS Code 1.99 or later and Agent selected in Copilot Chat.
Connect Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Freemius in Chartsy and let the first sync finish. The demo data added at signup doesn't count.
Each tool call uses one ChartsyAI question, failed calls included. When your monthly allowance is used up, calls stop until it resets on the 1st, or until you upgrade your Chartsy plan.
Short answers for GitHub Copilot users.
Run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette, choose HTTP, paste https://mcp.chartsy.app/mcp, name it chartsy and save it to your user profile. Sign in to Chartsy when VS Code asks, then ask Copilot Chat in Agent mode.
Copilot Free, Pro, Pro+ and Max can use MCP servers in VS Code 1.99 or later. On Copilot Business and Enterprise, an admin has to turn on the "MCP servers in Copilot" policy first.
No. VS Code signs in to Chartsy with OAuth: approve once in the browser. A personal token is only for machines where that sign-in isn't possible; put it in an input with password: true, never in the file.
Yes, as long as there's no token in it. With sign-in the file holds only the server URL, and each teammate signs in with their own Chartsy login and sees only their own accounts.
One per tool call, failed calls included. Most questions take one or two calls; "what happened yesterday?" is a single get_daily_snapshot call.
Connecting costs nothing extra. It works on any Chartsy plan, including the free trial, and each tool call uses one ChartsyAI question from your plan's monthly allowance.
Copilot reads whatever you have connected to Chartsy: Stripe, Paddle, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem, Freemius or a custom source through the Chartsy API.
No. All 19 Chartsy tools are read-only. Copilot can't change Chartsy, your payment provider's data, or your customers.
Delete the chartsy entry from your user or workspace mcp.json. To cut access everywhere, revoke it in Chartsy under Settings → Claude & MCP.
Yes. The get_revenue_by_source tool follows the people who signed up from each source, medium, UTM campaign or post into your billing data, and returns how many became paying customers, what they're worth in MRR today, how many churned and the retention rate. You can choose first touch (where they first found you) or last touch (what made them sign up). It needs the Chartsy tracking script on your site and a connected payment provider. Groups with fewer than 5 paying customers are flagged as too small to call.
Same server, same numbers. Or see all AI agents and the MCP server reference.
Connect your payment provider to Chartsy, add the server in VS Code, and ask in agent mode.
