Revenue attribution

Chartsy credits each payment to the signup it belongs to, and so to the channel that brought that visitor. Pick your payment provider.

Payment providers

Put the visitor id on the customer, so a payment matches its signup even when the billing email differs.

How a payment is matched#

Match bySetupWorks when
EmailNone - automatic once signups are trackedThe customer pays with the same email they signed up with
chartsy_visitor_idAdd the visitor id to the customer record - the provider guides aboveAlways, including a different billing email

Matching by email needs no payment code at all. The visitor id is optional, but it is the only way to keep the match when someone signs up as jo@gmail.com and pays as billing@company.com. Payment Links and other checkouts that can't carry it fall back to email.

Before you start#

Revenue is attributed through signups, so you need all three in place:

  1. The script on every page - installation guides.
  2. Signups identified - signup tracking guides.
  3. Your payment provider connected to Chartsy - Stripe or Paddle.
