Stork AI Newsletter Sponsorship

How I Used Chartsy to Track My Stork AI Newsletter Sponsorship

$299, seven daily issues, and every visit, signup and payment tied back to Stork.

In October 2026 I sponsored seven daily issues of Stork AI Daily to promote Chartsy. Stork sent me a click report at the end. I wanted the rest: how many readers reached my site, how many signed up, and whether any paid. This is how I set Chartsy up to track the sponsorship end to end, and how I read what it showed.

How do you track a Stork AI newsletter sponsorship?

Give the Stork placement its own tagged link, add the Chartsy script to your website so visits and signups are recorded by source, and connect your payment provider so paying customers are matched back to the visit that brought them. Then compare Stork's unique clicks with the visits Chartsy records, and judge the sponsorship on cost per signup and cost per paying customer rather than clicks.

Set up before the first issue went out

Most of the tracking has to be in place before readers click. You can't tag a visit after it has happened.

So before the first issue I gave the placement its own tagged link, checked that signups on chartsy.app were being recorded with their source, and made sure my billing account was connected, so a trial that converts weeks later is still matched to the Stork visit that started it. With that in place, Stork's report became the first number in my funnel instead of the only one.

What Chartsy showed for Stork

What Chartsy showed for the campaign week, 1-7 October 2026 (real data):

Visits from Stork
111
45% of the week
Unique clicks (Stork's report)
105
714 total
Signups (first source)
3
5 more unknown
Cost per visit
$2.69

Cost per signup

Every card is filtered to Stork as the source, so it sits next to Google, direct traffic and everything else for the same week.

What Chartsy answered about the Stork sponsorship

The questions I needed answered to decide whether Stork was worth repeating, and what Chartsy showed:

How many visits did Stork actually send?

111 visits during the campaign week - about 45% of the 246 visits Chartsy tracked that week, and the biggest source.

How do Stork's clicks compare with real visits?

Stork reported 714 total clicks and 105 unique clicks. Total clicks include readers clicking again in later issues, so the 105 unique clicks are the fair comparison with Chartsy's 111 visits.

How many signups came from Stork?

3 signups had Stork as their first source. 5 more signups that week had no identified source, so I didn't count them as Stork's.

What did each visit and signup cost?

About $2.69 per tracked visit and about $99.67 per attributed signup, for the $299 placement.

Did any of them become paying customers?

Not when the campaign ended. The tracking stays in place, so any Stork signup who pays later will show up against Stork.

How it works

1

Tag the placement

Give the newsletter its own UTM-tagged link, for example utm_source=newsletter-name&utm_medium=newsletter.

2

Track visits and signups

One Chartsy script on your website records each visit's source and every signup.

3

Connect your billing

Connect Stripe, Paddle, Freemius, Polar.sh, Creem.io or Lemon Squeezy so paying customers are matched back to the visit that brought them.

Step by step: how I tracked it

The steps I took in Chartsy, in order. The full results and what I thought of them are in the write-up.

  1. 1

Tagged the link before the first issue

The placement linked to chartsy.app with its own source, so every visit from the newsletter was labelled from the first day.

  2. 2

Compared Stork's report with real visits

Stork reported total and unique clicks. In Chartsy's traffic sources, Stork was the biggest source of the week - and its visit count sat close to the unique clicks, not the total.

  3. 3

Looked at signups by first source

Chartsy credited three signups to Stork and kept five with no identified source apart, so I didn't count them as Stork's.

  4. 4

    Followed the signups to paid

None had paid when the campaign ended. The tracking stays in place, so whether Stork brought paying customers will show up as trials end.

Key benefits

  • Every visit, signup and payment from the sponsorship tied back to the newsletter
  • Publisher clicks and real visits side by side, so you know which number to trust
  • Signups with no identified source kept apart, so a sponsorship never gets credit it didn't earn
  • Cost per paying customer once trials convert, not just cost per click

Who this is for

Founders considering a Stork AI sponsorship, or any newsletter sponsorship, who want to know weeks later whether it brought paying customers - not just clicks.
