What you get

The four numbers Polar sellers ask about most

Chartsy turns your Polar orders, subscriptions and refunds into SaaS metrics you can trust.

MRR

Subscriptions normalized to one monthly figure, with per-seat plans counted by seat and split by product and interval.

Churn

Cancelled subscriptions by product, counted when paid access actually ends - so a cancel at period end never churns early.

LTV

What a subscriber is worth over their lifetime, compared across products and monthly versus annual billing.

Net revenue

Orders minus tax, Polar’s fee, refunds and disputes, by month - so a refund spike never hides inside a good-looking total.

How it works

From Polar data to plain-English answers in four steps

  1. Step 1

    Connect your Polar organization

Paste an Organization Access Token. Chartsy imports your products, subscriptions, orders and refunds, and adds the webhook for you.

Create it in Polar under Settings → Developers → New Token.

  2. Step 2

    Ask your questions

Type questions in plain English - about MRR, churn, LTV, refunds or any metric that matters to you.

    “Which product churns the most?”

  3. Step 3

    Get actionable insights

Every answer comes with a chart and the numbers behind it, so you can check the reasoning.

Charts split by product and billing interval.

  4. Step 4

    Export & share

Download reports as PDF or PNG and share them with your team or investors.

Built for Polar

Only recurring revenue counts as MRR

Polar lets you sell subscriptions, seats, usage-based billing and one-time products side by side. Chartsy counts each one the way it should, so your MRR stays honest.

  • Per-seat plans count every seatA Team plan with 5 seats at $12 a seat counts as $60 of MRR.
  • Usage, prorations and one-time sales stay out of MRRMetered usage, upgrade prorations and one-time purchases show up in revenue and net revenue, never in MRR.
  • Churn waits for access to endA subscription cancelled at period end stays active until its paid period runs out, and churns on that day.

Your data

Your token stays private. Your Polar data stays as it is.

Reads, never edits

Chartsy reads your products, subscriptions, orders, refunds, customers and discounts. The only thing it adds in Polar is the webhook endpoint that sends it new events.

Token stored encrypted

Your Organization Access Token is encrypted at rest. Give it only the scopes Chartsy asks for - it checks each one when you connect.

Delete anytime

Delete the data source in Chartsy and it is permanently removed, together with all the data imported from it.

FAQ

Questions about the Polar connection

Step-by-step setup is in the Polar connection guide.

What do I need to connect Polar.sh?

One Organization Access Token. In Polar, go to Settings → Developers → New Token, choose no expiration and tick organizations:read, products:read, subscriptions:read, orders:read, refunds:read, customers:read, discounts:read and webhooks:write. Chartsy checks every scope when you connect and names any that are missing.

Do usage-based and one-time sales count as MRR?

No. Only orders that bill a full subscription period count toward MRR, with per-seat plans counted by seat. Metered usage, upgrade prorations and one-time purchases count as revenue and net revenue, never as MRR.

Can I connect more than one Polar organization?

Yes. Each Polar organization is its own data source with its own name in the account picker, and All Accounts adds them up with any Stripe, Paddle or Freemius accounts you connect.

How much history does Chartsy import?

Everything from 1 January two years ago - at least 24 months - plus every subscription that’s still active, right after you connect. After that, the Polar webhook delivers new orders, refunds and subscription changes as they happen, and an hourly sync picks up anything a webhook missed.

Can I see which marketing channel brought each Polar customer?

Yes. Selling through checkout links? Set each link’s Success URL to a page on your site with the Chartsy tag, ending in ?checkout_id={CHECKOUT_ID}, and Chartsy credits the order to the visit behind it - even without a signup. Creating checkouts from your server? Add the chartsy_visitor_id cookie to the checkout metadata. Buyers are also matched by email to people who signed up.

Does GDPR mode work with Polar?

Yes. Turn it on when you connect and Chartsy keeps customer emails, names, countries and cities out of the sync. MRR, churn and revenue stay the same, and checkout-link and checkout-metadata attribution keep working; breakdowns by country and matching payments to visitors by email are what you give up.
