Send anyone a live chart - no login, no seat, no screenshot.
Sharing a number usually means screenshotting a chart into a deck or an email, where it starts going stale the moment you hit send. Share Links replace that with a URL. Anyone you send it to opens the real chart in their browser - no Chartsy login, no seat on your plan, nothing to install - and because the page re-runs the query on every visit, what they read is the current figure rather than the one from the day you exported it.
Investor updates, board packs, a question from your accountant, a co-founder who wants to keep an eye on churn - all of it currently ends in an export. You screenshot the chart, paste it somewhere, and next month you do the whole thing again. Worse, the picture stops being true immediately: anyone who re-reads that email in three weeks is reading a number that has since moved.
A share link is the same chart, addressed rather than copied. It renders live from your synced Stripe or Paddle data, in Chartsy's own card design, with your company name and an "updated" timestamp at the top so the viewer can see for themselves how fresh it is. You send it once and it keeps being right.
A link points at one of three things. A single chart sends one saved, AI-generated chart along with its written explanation. A whole dashboard sends every saved chart for one account - or the aggregated view across all of them, if that is what you want the viewer to see. And the MRR Breakdown page can be shared in full, or one section at a time.
That last option is the one worth planning around. The MRR Breakdown is built from six sections - Summary, Story, Movement, Plans, Countries and Customers - and a link can carry just one of them. So you can send your board the MRR movement chart without exposing your customer list, or send an advisor the plan-level split without handing over anything else. Scope is a decision you make when you create the link, not something you have to trust the reader with afterwards.
Paste a share link into Notion, Confluence, WordPress or your own site and the chart renders inside the page as an embed - no Iframely setup needed in Notion, and platforms that ask a provider how to embed something get a proper answer through Chartsy's oEmbed endpoint. Drop the same link into Slack, Teams, iMessage or a social post and it unfurls as an actual picture of the chart instead of a naked URL.
A share link is a read credential and nothing else. There is no session behind it, no action for the viewer to take, and no route from the page into your account. You can give it an expiry date when you create it, or revoke it instantly at any point - and revoking keeps the record rather than deleting it, so you can still see what was shared and when.
The part that matters most is invisible: what a link is allowed to show is worked out from your own access every single time the page renders, not baked in on the day the link was made. If your access to an account goes away, links pointing at that account stop showing its data. Delete the chart and its links die with it. On top of that, tokens are 256-bit random values stored hashed, shared pages are excluded from search engines, the token never travels in a referrer header, the underlying SQL is proven tenant-scoped on every render, and the public endpoints are rate-limited.
There is a Share button on your dashboard, on every chart card, on the MRR Breakdown header, and on each MRR section title - so the thing you are looking at is the thing you share.
The modal preselects the account you already have open and tells you it has done so. You can change it, and either way you see exactly what the link will show before the link exists.
Create the link, optionally give it an expiry date, and copy it. It works in a browser, as an embed in Notion or Confluence, and as a preview in Slack.
Every link shows how many times it has been opened and when it was last viewed. One click revokes it, and the same link can never be used again.
Share Links are for founders and operators who regularly have to show their numbers to someone who should not have an account: investors and board members, advisors, accountants, a fractional CFO, or a client. If you currently keep a folder of dashboard screenshots, or re-export the same chart every month for the same update, this replaces that habit with one URL.
