Greet every visitor by country and show how many people are here now.
A landing page looks the same to everyone, and from the outside it's hard to tell whether anyone else is there. The Live Visitors Widget changes both with one snippet: each visitor sees a message that names their country, and a live count of how many people are on the site right now. Social proof and a personal welcome, without cookies and without touching your site's CSS.
Write one message of up to 280 characters and drop in the {country} and {flag} placeholders. "Hey visitor from {country} {flag}! Glad you found us - have a look around." reaches someone in Germany as "Hey visitor from Germany π©πͺ", and someone in Japan as "Japan π―π΅". If a visitor's country can't be worked out, they see "around the world" instead of a blank.
Add an optional call-to-action button with its own text and link - "Start free trial" pointing at your pricing page, for example - so the greeting also moves people somewhere.
The widget can show how many people are on your site right now, counting anyone active in the last five minutes. It's the kind of signal that makes a page feel busy rather than empty. If your traffic is still small, or you'd simply rather not show a number, turn the count off and keep just the greeting.
If the Chartsy tracking script is also on your site, its heartbeat feeds the same count, so visitors are counted across every tracked page - and someone on a page with both scripts is still counted once.
Float it in the bottom-right or bottom-left corner, or place it inline exactly where you paste the snippet. Choose Light, Dark, or Auto - which follows each visitor's own light or dark mode - and set your own accent colour. Settings has a live preview on both light and dark backgrounds, so you see what visitors will see before you save.
The widget's styles live inside a shadow DOM, so your site's CSS can't break it and it can't break your site. It's a small vanilla script with no dependencies. Need it gone for a while? One switch pauses it without removing the snippet.
The widget sets no cookies and stores nothing on the visitor's device. Presence is kept only in memory, under an identifier that rotates daily, so no per-visitor record is written to a database. The widget doesn't count against your plan's event allowance, and it only answers on your site's own allowed domains, so nobody can copy your key and show your numbers somewhere else.
In Chartsy, go to Settings β Website tracking β Live visitors widget and pick the site you want it on.
Write your greeting with {country} and {flag}, choose whether to show the live count, and set placement, theme, accent colour and an optional button.
Paste the snippet - a small "Live visitors by Chartsy" link plus one script tag - into your site. It only runs on your site's allowed domains.
Edit the message, look or button from settings and the widget updates on your site. One switch pauses it without touching the snippet.
The Live Visitors Widget is for SaaS founders who want their site to feel alive - a personal welcome for every visitor, and visible proof that other people are looking too - without adding a heavy chat tool or a single cookie.
